EV (aka Erin and Victoria)

One of my bestest friends in the whole wide world is getting married on Sunday.  I can't believe it.  I am more than happy for her and her husband to be Josh.  I am also super stoked that I will be a part of her big day.

Erin and I met back in High school.  We both moved to Provo, UT our Junior year.  She moved from Virginia, and I moved from South Carolina.  We are both tall with blond hair, so we were always mistaken for one another.  I would get, "Oh, you are the new girl from Virginia", and Erin would get the same, only it would be from South Carolina.  We didn't officially meet until our Junior year was almost over.  I was dating Brady Phillips and Erin was dating Ted Turner, who were both good friends, and we finally met.  We were instantly best friends.  We were so similar, had the same personalities, and just became so close so fast.  That summer, we were inseparable.  It was me, Erin, Lindsey, and Robin.  "Lin, Bin, Rin, and Vic".  Our senior year was the greatest.  We were the best of friends, and to this day, the four of us are still extremely close.

We will all be reunited this weekend as Erin marries the love of her life.  I can't wait to be in Virginia, see my friends, and spend the weekend building memories with one of my best friends.  I am so glad that Robert is coming with me so that he can meet my best friends from high school.  It is going to be a great weekend.

In honor of Erin's wedding, I went back, way back, and found some old pictures of the two of us.  Enjoy this blast from the past.  (sad that all my pictures are in a box in storage from high school... these are all post HS).

Erin, I love you so much and I am so proud of you for everything you have become.  I can't wait to see you this weekend and to partake in this day that you will remember for the rest of your life.  We will always be "EV" and I will always be your best friend.  Congratulations Josh and Erin!  See you Saturday!  I love you!!!

I can't believe that I have already been in California for five months.  It has had its ups and downs, but I am so glad that I took this step and moved here.  I am 100 % smitten with this one....
He has my heart.  Brayden is my buddy.  I have so much fun with him, being a kid again, playing games and reading him books.  I love how kids look at you with so much love and so much trust.  He brightens my day.  Last night was a first for us.  Robert and I went to put him in bed, and for the first time he said, "I love you V!"  Usually, both Robert and I will say goodnight, and I love you and then he repeats it.  But yesterday was different.  He let me lay next to him and rub his back and he kept saying, "night night V, love you V."  Nothing beats having love from a child.

Growing up all I ever wanted was to be a mom... I never knew that I would feel like this about a child.  I know that it is different because he isn't my son, and I will never try to take the place of his mother, but I love him as much as I can and will do anything for him.  He has my heart.  I will be a mom some day, but until then, Brayden is all I could ever have wanted.

Kelsi and Paul Nevin

My sister got married on August 20, 2011.  It was an amazing wedding and absolutely beautiful.  I am so grateful that I was able to be a part of this incredibly special day.

Friday, Paul's parents held a barbecue in the park for both of our families.  It was a casual and fun event.  I loved being able to spend some time with my family!
After the dinner, we all headed back to my grandparents, and then Jordyn and her girls came and stayed with me at the hotel.  Robert wasn't able to come, which made me really sad, but he had to stay home with Brayden, so Jordyn stayed at my hotel with me on Friday night.  I took Ella with me and Jordyn brought Peyton later.  Ella and I went to Brick Oven (had to get my fix) and we shared some grub on the hotel room floor.  I absolutely love love love that little girl.

Saturday was a busy busy day.  We went over to my grandparents house in the morning and enjoyed some yummy slop.  I then went and got my hair and makeup done at a salon in Provo... she did a great job.  I loved the way she did my hair.

After my appointment, we just hung out at the house, got things ready for the wedding, went to lunch at J-Dawgs, which was delish, and then finally headed up to the location of the wedding around 3:30.  My dad's friend allowed us to use his backyard for the ceremony and reception.  This house was ridiculous, absolutely amazing and incredibly gorgeous.  It was perfect for the feel that Kelsi was going.  She has always wanted a beachy feel wedding, and this backyard was perfect.

We spent about an hour or so setting up and getting Kelsi ready.  I was so excited to see her in her dress.  I had seen it when she first tried it on, back when it was just a prom dress.  Paul's sister transformed the dress into such an amazing, beautiful dress, and I couldn't wait to see it on her.  I thought for sure that was going to be when it "hit" me that she was getting married.  Let me tell you, it was SO HOT.  It was probably close to 95 degrees outside, and we put Kelsi in her dress in an outdoor bathroom, with no AC... I couldn't think of anything besides the sweat that was dripping down us all.  I will say this, the moment she put that dress on I couldn't take my eyes off her.  She looked absolutely amazing.  She was glowing and I was so happy for her and that I was able to be there to help her into her dress, and see her and the smile that was on her face once she was ready to go outside.  I love my sister so much, and she looked beautiful.  Once we had her all ready, I went inside the main house to get my flip flops... my feet were already killing me from my heels, so it was time for a change.  Paul was getting ready in the main house, and when he came out in his tux I lost it.  It finally hit me.  My little sister was getting married to this man, and he looked gorgeous.  I immediately started to cry and the only thing that I wanted to do was go and give my sister a hug and tell her how happy I was for her and Paul.  I went outside with tears in my eyes, found my sister, and wrapped my eyes around her.  She looked at me, told me to stop crying and gave me a huge hug.  Words can't describe how I felt at that moment.  I was so happy and so happy for Kelsi and Paul.  I love my sister so much and knew that she was doing the right thing and that her and Paul were going to be spending the rest of their lives together.
Finally the ceremony started. This wedding was definitely different than most weddings I had been too. I got to see my dad walk Kelsi down the aisle and give her to Paul. It was beautiful. The ceremony was super emotional, the Bishop that conducted the wedding had great things to say to Kelsi and Paul and it was lovely. My grandma was holding Paul and Kelsi's rings and when she gave them to Kelsi, she almost dropped her ring in the pool, it was hilarious, and a total Kelsi move. We all laughed, and then the laughter turned into tears as we watched Kelsi and Paul exchange their rings and give themselves to each other. It was emotional and beautiful. I loved watching Kelsi and Paul take their first kiss as husband and wife. I am so glad I was there and able to witness their marriage. It was beautiful.

After the ceremony, the clouds came in and it started to storm.  We were trying to take pictures and the wind was blowing and everyone was just waiting for it to start pouring.  It was crazy how it was so   hot and then it got way stormy.  We took some family pictures, then Kelsi and Paul went off with the photographer for about an hour while we set up for the reception.  Thankfully, the rain stopped and it ended up being a really nice night.  The reception was gorgeous... very simple, but elegant.  Everything turned out fantastic.  My mom, sister, and grandma did a great job planning everything is such a short period of time (I believe it was 6 weeks from engagement to wedding).  A ton of people came to the reception and it was nice seeing some of my family that I haven't seen in a while.
The reception ended around 9:30.  We had to clean EVERYTHING up and it took FOREVER.  We were all exhausted at this point, Kelsi and Paul had left to head on their honeymoon, and all I wanted to do was get in my bed.  We left Mr. Gibson's house just after 10:30 and drove home.  I was so glad the day was over, we were all so tired.  I went back to the hotel after unloading everything at my grandparents house and was so tired it was hard to sleep, but all and all the wedding was beautiful.  I am so happy for my little sister and for Paul.  I am so glad that they got married and i was able to go to it and be a part of it.

Congrats Kelsi and Paul!!!  I love you both!!!
